What installation services are available to me?
While Allied doesn’t employ it’s own installers, our sales representatives each have their own installers whom they trust, that they partner with to get your install job done.
What colours do your windows come in?
To look at the colour options for your windows, go to our Vinyl, Aluminum and Hybrid menus and have a look at the colours pages under each; we have 42 different colours to paint exterior, or interior or both. The base colours for our vinyl window are white or almond (sand).
What glazing and grill options do you have?
We have dozens of different glazing options in dual pane and triple pane. We have Low-e argon filled sealed units with UV and insulating qualities. We have titanium-treated outside surfaces that require little maintenance! There are lots of options in grills (grids), colours configurations and colours are nearly limitless.
What are standard sizes?
Generally there are no standard sizes. Allied will build any size you wish, to the nearest 16th of an inch. For our manufacturing process and efficiency, we don’t sell pre-built standard sizes. Every window is uniquely yours regardless of the dimension. The industry does not normally recognize a ‘standard’ size for a window.
What is your warranty and where can I read it?
You can read and print our full warranty right off of the 'Our Warranty' page on this website. Or, if you prefer, give us a call and we’ll send you one by mail.
How do I go about getting my windows serviced that are still under warranty?
Getting your windows serviced is easy. To get the process started, phone in and ask to speak to our Service Manager, or go to the Service Request Form page on this website, and fill out our online form.
What is Low-E Glass with Argon Gas? How does it work?
Low-E (Emissivity) Glass is glass with transparent metallic oxide layers applied onto a glass surface. The coating allows short-wave energy to pass through, but reflects long-wave infrared energy which improves the U-Value by suppressing radiative heat flow. Argon Gas is an odourless, colorless, tasteless, non-toxic inert gas which is six times denser than air. It is used to replace air between the glass panes to reduce temperature transfer.
How long do your windows take to manufacture? When can I expect them to be complete from the time of order?
Generally, our windows take 10 business days to complete from time of order. This lead time lengthens depending on if your window is a custom shape, painted, custom patio door, etc. If this is the case, you will be informed of your specific lead time prior to ordering, but still based on the time of actual order.
In BC we have this Energy Efficiency Act, do Allied Windows conform?
Yes we do, starting in 2009, all residential window makers were required to test and lab certify windows to the very high provincial standard. Tested and passed on all our vinyl windows and doors! Every vinyl window carries the provincial acceptance etched in the glass.
Where can I see your windows in a house?
You can call us with your address and we will give you a few in your neigbourhood to look at, or you can come visit one of our showrooms (see contact page map).
